Eskenazi Health Work Study

Becoming the first work-study student at Eskenazi Health was an incredibly rewarding experience. In this role, I gained hands-on experience in hiring, onboarding, and human resources processes. I learned valuable professional skills that will serve me well in future careers, while also gaining a comprehensive understanding of how an organization operates. Through my involvement in the hiring and interview processes, I was able to observe and participate in key aspects of talent acquisition, which deepened my understanding of organizational dynamics.

Organizational Experience

During college, I was actively involved in the Women of Color Leadership Institute (WOCLI), where I served as both the Public Relations Chair and First Vice President. These roles provided me with valuable experience in cultivating and maintaining professional relationships while organizing events for a diverse group of individuals. As First Vice President, I had the opportunity to develop my leadership skills, learning how to motivate and collaborate with others to achieve our goals, while also leveraging my strengths to contribute effectively to the organization’s success.

Volunteer Experience

Volunteering has been a meaningful part of my life from a young age, fostering a deep appreciation for my community and a strong desire to continue giving back as I progress in my career. I’ve had the privilege of volunteering with organizations like Hoosiers OutRun Cancer, where I helped register participants for their race, and Fancy, Fabulous, Free, where I assisted individuals in finding the perfect dresses for prom. Both experiences were incredibly rewarding and have inspired me to continue seeking out opportunities to make a positive impact on my community.

Internship Experience

Over the summer, I had the opportunity to intern with the Indiana Immunization Coalition, which was an incredibly rewarding experience. I traveled across Indiana, helping underserved communities access vaccines to protect their health and prepare for the school year. This role not only allowed me to contribute to public health but also gave me hands-on experience with insurance processing, vaccine registration, and improving my organizational skills. It was a meaningful opportunity to support communities in need while developing practical skills that will benefit my future career.
